A Faery Fling is the website featuring the fearie only creations of fine artist Dominica Polley.

 

Dominica has been creating art for as long as she can remember. Her first sales were in the playground at primary school drawing horses (her constant muse). She progressed to winning competitions, featuring in magazines, and illustrating children's picture books, book covers and selling commissioned artworks. In 2011 her large mural at the IMAX cinema in Melbourne helped raise thousands of dollars for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

 

In 2013, inspired by a stay at Norman Lindsay's estate in the Blue Mountains, she began a series of popular adult Faerie prints and cards, all of which free to view or purchase from this website.

 

Dominica's art seeks to evoke a sense of wonder and mystery in the world, as well as revealing its sensuousness - reminding us that the divine is ever-present and accessible to the flesh. The nude form features heavily in her work. Her larger artworks ('Baphomet', 'Sekhmet of the Fire and Blood') are sometimes the result of intense visionary encounters with the preternatural. Her most recent exhibition featured an array of Nature Spirits, some ancient and some ever-young.
